What is Blepharoplasties?
Blepharophimosis is an eye condition present from birth which mainly affects the development of the eyelids. Those with the condition have droopy eyelids, a narrowing eye opening, an upward fold of the skin on the lower eyelid near the inner corner of the eye, and an increased distance between the inner corners of the eyes. Due to these defects on the eyelid, the eyelids cannot be opened fully which can make the vision limited.
Treatment
The only way to treat this condition is to have surgery and traditionally, surgery is done for patients at ages 3-5 with another surgery a year later to complete the repair.
